Dr Dennis Oerlemans studied medicine at Maastricht University. After a period as a researcher in the urology department, he started training as a urologist at MUMC+ and Atrium Heerlen (now Zuyderland) from 2008.
After completing his specialisation, he started working as a urologist at the Laurentius Hospital in Roermond, where he mainly deals with the treatment of urological tumours as well as urinary complaints (urine loss, frequent urination, weak jet).
Dennis Oerlemans finds it very important to explain clearly to patients what is medically wrong with them and what can be done about it. In many cases, patients with a urological condition have several treatment options to choose from. He derives great satisfaction from making a good choice together with the patient. In doing so, they especially consider the impact the treatment will have on the patient's quality of life.
Dennis Oerlemans holds a PhD in the treatment of lower urinary tract complaints using neuromodulation.
