A squamous cell carcinoma of the skin (PCC) is a form of skin cancer that emanates from the upper layers of the skin. The PCC is often hard, painful, bleeds easily and grows rapidly. There is also a small risk of the PCC entering the body elsewhere via the blood or lymphatic system.
A good treatment for PCC is to excise the tumour with a small safety margin around it. For this, the skin is locally anaesthetised. With this, this skin cancer can generally be treated well and safely.
